A Hexagon Case Study
BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, a major home appliance manufacturer, faced a challenge as its evolving product designs and tighter component tolerances were pushing the limits of its existing quality control processes. The company needed a new, more powerful solution for measuring prototypes and initial samples of its ovens, hobs, and microwaves to meet higher accuracy demands. To address this, they turned to vendor Hexagon for a high-precision coordinate measuring machine.
Hexagon implemented a Leitz Reference Xi coordinate measuring machine, which provided the necessary accuracy, a large measurement volume for XXL ovens, and high-speed data capture. The solution also included a new, optimally designed and climate-controlled measuring room to ensure environmental stability. This gave BSH greater flexibility and efficiency in its process capability analyses, allowing its metrology team to fully support the company's ongoing technical advancements in appliance manufacturing.
