BIMAQ - Customer Case Study

BIMAQ, a research institute focused on metrology and quality science, faced the challenge of analyzing and preventing distortions in metal gear wheels throughout their entire production process. To conduct this highly detailed research, they required precision measurement technology. They partnered with Hexagon and utilized a Leitz Reference coordinate measuring machine (CMM) equipped with QUINDOS 7 metrology software to gather comprehensive data.

Hexagon provided the high-precision 3D measuring solution that enabled BIMAQ to successfully scan and analyze 1,800 gear wheels. This allowed their scientists to pinpoint exactly where distortion occurred in the production chain. Based on this success, BIMAQ expanded its work with Hexagon to tackle gearbox failures in wind power plants, commissioning a larger Leitz PMM-F CMM to measure massive components. The partnership with Hexagon has equipped BIMAQ to deliver valuable insights that aim to improve production processes and significantly extend the service life of industrial components.
