Battersea Arts Centre project prompts CNC and software investment

Battersea Arts Centre, a UK-based organization, faced the challenge of restoring its fire-damaged, Grade II Listed building with intricate acoustic paneling, a task that prompted their joinery contractor to seek an automated manufacturing solution. This led them to invest in technology from vendor Hexagon, specifically their Alphacam CAD/CAM software, to program new CNC machine tools for the complex project.

The solution involved using Hexagon's Alphacam software to program and machine hundreds of unique panel components, a process that would have been extremely difficult manually. This investment in automation, centered on Hexagon's technology, doubled the joinery company's turnover from £1.2m to £2.5m within a year, streamlined their production, and became a 100 percent integral part of their operations.
