A Hexagon Case Study
Spooner Industries, a sheet metal manufacturer, faced a significant bottleneck in programming its press brakes. The process of importing and programming individual CAD files for bending was extremely time-consuming, requiring 21 separate steps per part and two full-time employees. To address this challenge, they worked with vendor Hexagon and its RADAN software.
Hexagon developed a custom macro for its RADAN software called Batch Bending, which automated the import and initial programming of multiple components at once. This solution drastically reduced manual steps and repetitive work. The results were substantial, saving Spooner more than a full week's work every week. This allowed them to clear their backlog and reallocate staff to other tasks, significantly increasing overall efficiency.
