ARBURG GmbH + Co KG - Customer Case Study

The customer, ARBURG GmbH + Co KG, a manufacturer of injection moulding machines, faced a challenge ensuring the precision of deep internal bores in their workpieces. Imperfect bores risked damaging expensive tools and creating rejects. To solve this, they implemented the modular m&h 20.41 touch probe from vendor Hexagon to perform precision measurements deep inside these components.

Hexagon's solution involved a modular radio-wave touch probe system with extensions that could reach 500mm deep into bores, enabling micron-level accuracy checks after each machining step. This prevented tool damage and production rejects, ensuring a highly reliable manufacturing process. ARBURG highly appreciated the production reliability and the ability to use standard elements for a custom solution, which resulted in lower costs and easy procurement of spare parts.
