ALPHACAM Waveform halves automation component roughing cycles

Allied Automation, a manufacturer of bespoke automated assembly machines for the medical and pharmaceutical industries, faced the challenge of manufacturing its high-precision components in the most efficient way. The company sought to increase the speed of toolpath creation and significantly reduce overall machining cycles for its CNC milling machines and lathes. To address this, they utilized the Alphacam software from Hexagon.

By implementing Hexagon's Alphacam software and specifically its Waveform Roughing technique, Allied Automation drastically improved its machining process. The solution halved rough machining cycle times and substantially prolonged tool life, with cutters lasting up to three times longer. This resulted in major savings on cutting tools and made the programmers' jobs easier by reducing time, stress, and the potential for errors.
