Accurate prediction of part performance in response to static loads for short fiber reinforced composites

SABIC faced the challenge of accurately predicting how parts made from short fiber reinforced composites would perform under static loads. This required a high-fidelity simulation that could account for complex manufacturing effects and the material's non-linear behavior.

Hexagon addressed this challenge with its Digimat software, which was used for high-fidelity anisotropic simulation. By implementing this solution, Hexagon enabled SABIC's material data team to achieve a significant increase in the accuracy of their part performance predictions.
