3B Fluid Power SRL, an Italian manufacturer of oil-hydraulic components, sought to optimize its production workflow to meet growing customer demands for quality and delivery. The challenge was to integrate a more efficient inspection process directly into manufacturing to reduce inspection times, improve accuracy, and increase the sampling rate of measurements. To address this, they consulted with vendor Hexagon to identify a suitable solution.

Hexagon implemented its TIGO SF coordinate measuring machine (CMM) directly into 3B Fluid Power's automated production cell. This shop-floor-ready solution, supported by Hexagon's application engineers for programming and setup, allowed for in-line measurement of parts. The results were significant: the sampling rate of inspected products jumped from 10% to 50%, enabling 24/7 automated operation and contributing to the company trebling its turnover within a few years.
