Sihy Oy Finland Uses Intergraph Spoolgen® to Improve Productivity and Drive Growth

Sihy Oy, a Finland-based pipe manufacturer serving shipbuilding and process industries, wanted to move away from paper-based, manual workflow to a data-centric process. The company needed to automate the transfer of piping data from 3D models into production planning and shop-floor operations, reducing errors and speeding up work planning. Hexagon PPM’s Intergraph Spoolgen® was the product used to help address this challenge.

Hexagon PPM implemented Spoolgen to automatically process PCF files, generate workshop machine data, create spool drawings, and feed Sihy’s in-house PipeCloud system for planning and tracking. The solution enabled offline programming for cutting and bending machines, eliminating manual shop-floor programming and improving efficiency; Sihy reported up to a 50% reduction in work planning effort and greatly reduced planning errors.
