Proplant Redesigns an Extruder Valve Stand in Record Time

Proplant, a Slovak engineering company serving the chemical, pharmaceutical, power, and mechanical industries, needed to redesign and reconstruct the valve stand for an existing extruder unit in a petrochemical facility. The challenge was to improve steam distribution and cooling water control, while also making valves easier to identify, access, and maintain. Hexagon PPM software used in the project included CADWorx Plant Professional, CAESAR II, OrthoGen, and Isogen.

Hexagon PPM helped Proplant rapidly create accurate piping specifications, a 3D model, stress-check the design, and automatically generate consistent deliverables such as isometrics, orthographics, and BOMs. The bi-directional integration between CADWorx and CAESAR II eliminated remodelling and saved significant time, while the connected project database improved procurement accuracy. As a result, Proplant delivered the project on schedule and on budget, with one person handling multiple design tasks and reporting 100% time savings during pipe stress checks.
