L&T's Heavy Engineering IC Succeeds with PV Elite

L&T Heavy Engineering, India, a division of Larsen & Toubro serving oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, and related sectors, needed a faster and more reliable way to design pressure vessels and heat exchangers across a multi-project environment. Using Hexagon PPM’s PV Elite®, the team also had to handle custom code requirements, accurate weight and center-of-gravity calculations, and early bill-of-materials preparation without relying on manual spreadsheets and extra support tools.

Hexagon PPM implemented PV Elite® to provide full vessel design capabilities, including non-pressure components like trunnions and base rings, while improving calculation accuracy and file sharing with customers and inspection agencies. The result was substantially shorter design cycles, faster bid preparation, and the ability to learn the software in about one week; L&T Heavy Engineering now evaluates 400 or more designs annually and can submit more bids on time, helping increase client orders.
