Large Asian Shipbuilder to deliver 2 Vista-class cruise ships by 2022 with Hexagon PPM

A large Asian shipbuilder faced significant challenges in constructing complex Vista-class cruise ships, as their existing engineering tools for commercial vessels were inadequate for such a large and intricate project. To address the increasing demand for luxury cruise ships and a lack of specialized expertise, they partnered with Hexagon PPM and implemented solutions including Intergraph Smart Yard.

Hexagon PPM helped digitally transform the shipyard's fabrication process by deploying a suite of integrated solutions such as Intergraph Smart 3D and Smart Production. This digitalization of design, production planning, and material management enabled the shipbuilder to compress its schedule, control its budget, and minimize rework. As a result of the phased implementation by Hexagon, the shipbuilder is on track to deliver the first cruise ship in 2022 and will subsequently have the annual capacity to build up to four cruise ships.
