Mercury Engineering, an Irish engineering contractor serving sectors such as data centers, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and oil and gas, needed to upgrade an existing process plant in the Netherlands while tying new pipelines into an older facility. With limited existing as-built information, the company faced the challenge of accurately capturing the site conditions quickly enough to support off-site prefabrication and avoid clashes during installation.

Hexagon PPM provided CADWorx Plant Professional, Isogen, and Leica CloudWorx to integrate laser-scan point cloud data with 3D plant design. This allowed Mercury Engineering to design routes against accurate as-built conditions, generate trusted isometrics, and make on-the-fly adjustments as the project evolved, improving schedule certainty, enabling a right-first-time build, and reducing onsite labor and rework.
