Mahler AGS, a Germany-based manufacturer of gas generation and purification plants for the oil and gas, chemical, and petrochemical industries, needed a faster, easier-to-implement way to replace its existing design software and improve pipe stress analysis. The company also had to meet tight project deadlines while working with mixed ASME/DIN EN piping codes, and chose Hexagon PPM’s CADWorx Plant Professional and CAESAR II to support the project.

Hexagon PPM implemented CADWorx Plant Professional for intelligent 3D plant modeling and CAESAR II for piping stress calculations and specifications, with bi-directional data links to reduce errors and rework. The results included up to 15% savings in project work-hours and a 25% to 30% reduction in time spent on stress calculations, while the first project was completed in about five months and subsequent plants were designed using the same software.
