Harvard University - Customer Case Study

Harvard University, the oldest institution of higher education in the United States, needed a better way to consolidate and manage capital planning across its decentralized schools and units. Faced with nearly 1,000 projects, heavy reliance on static spreadsheets, and the need for reliable, up-to-date data across a five-year capital plan, Harvard turned to Hexagon PPM and its EcoSys platform to create a single source of truth for capital project information.

Hexagon PPM implemented EcoSys to automate capital planning, improve data integrity, and support ongoing monthly and periodic project monitoring. The solution added bi-directional integration with Harvard’s project approval system, actual expenditures, and data warehouse, while enabling role-based web access and standardized reporting. As a result, Harvard eliminated labor-intensive manual processes, improved consistency across plans, strengthened governance and compliance, and gained integrated visibility into actuals and forecasts across its capital portfolio.
