Case Study: PGESCo achieves faster, higher-quality power plant design with Hexagon PPM

PGESCo, a leading engineering services provider in Egypt’s power industry, needed to deliver the South Helwan Power Plant on a strict schedule while improving the quality and accuracy of engineering deliverables. To support its FEED, design, and construction-management work, PGESCo turned to Hexagon PPM products including Intergraph Smart 3D, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Electrical, CAESAR II, GT STRUDL, and Smart Review.

Hexagon PPM implemented a rule-based, data-centric engineering environment that connected piping, electrical, structural, and review workflows, including integration with third-party tools such as Tekla and ARCHICAD. The solution helped PGESCo automate engineering processes, reduce human errors and data mismatches, improve revision control, and support clash-free design and construction validation. PGESCo said the tools enabled better use of up-to-date plant information, with 30 users accessing the system and 20 able to edit data.
