DOD uses intergraph smart® materials to improve procurement efficiency

Daqing Oilfield Construction Design and Research Institute (DOD), a leading Chinese oil and gas design institute, needed to improve its materials management process across EPC projects and reduce procurement-related risks and costs. To address this challenge, DOD turned to Hexagon PPM and its Intergraph Smart® Materials solution, along with Smart Reference Data and other SmartPlant Enterprise tools.

Hexagon PPM implemented Smart Materials as DOD’s centralized materials management system, creating defined material and commodity codes to support consistent data across engineering disciplines. The result was a more efficient procurement process, better project control, and lower risk and cost, helping DOD deliver projects on time and within budget.
