Case Study: Kurita Water Industries Ltd. improves operational efficiency with Hexagon PPM CADWorx

Design solutions to help drive innovation and industry leadership at global water company

Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (Kurita Water), a leading water and environmental management company in Japan, wanted to improve its internal design and materials purchasing processes as it expanded its global ambitions. The company had been relying on Microsoft Office tools and in-house software, but needed more advanced design solutions for the small-to-medium plant market that could also work alongside its existing internal systems. Hexagon PPM provided CADWorx Plant Professional and CADWorx P&ID Professional to meet these needs.

Hexagon PPM implemented three seats of CADWorx Plant Professional and 70 seats of CADWorx P&ID Professional at Kurita Water, with an emphasis on improving P&ID creation, operational efficiency, and design quality. Early results have been positive: Kurita Water reported easier creation of intelligent, specification-driven P&IDs, better integration with in-house applications, and strong customization for interoperability. The company also cited a solid cost return on its initial investment and is now considering broader rollout and future use of CADWorx Plant Professional for 3D design.
