DC PRO Redesigns Failing Support System for Oman Convention Facility

DC PRO Engineering, a UAE-based leader in district energy, co-generation, and tri-generation projects, was selected to redesign the failing supporting system for the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The challenge was to perform detailed stress and structural analysis for an already installed piping and equipment system, while making modifications within the constraints of the original support structure. Hexagon PPM’s CAESAR II® and FEATools™ were used to support the engineering work.

Hexagon PPM used CAESAR II® to analyze piping stresses and FEATools™ for finite element analysis, enabling DC PRO Engineering to redesign and rectify the existing supports without replacing the entire system. The solution verified the modified and remaining supports, reduced client expenses, and was completed with minimal delay to the schedule. The project delivered dependable operation and earned DC PRO Engineering recognition for its innovative use of Hexagon PPM software.
