A Hexagon PPM Case Study
A Canadian oil sands refinery owner faced significant challenges due to a lack of visibility across its multi-contractor project, which featured a complex global supply chain. With multiple EPC firms using different systems, the owner struggled with reactive decision-making based on outdated data, inefficient paper-based processes, and cumbersome cross-scope coordination. To address this, the owner partnered with Hexagon PPM and implemented its Jovix Material Readiness solution to gain a single source of truth for all project materials.
Hexagon PPM's Jovix solution provided complete owner visibility into planning, productivity, and performance across all contractors. The implementation included robust reporting, inspections and preventative maintenance, workface planning, and a specialized heavy haul report. The results were substantial, including a more accurate view of productivity, proactive issue resolution, and the elimination of a full-time equivalent role dedicated to heavy haul coordination. The project owner reported total savings of $38,036,454 from increased productivity and the removal of paper-based processes.
