Austral Diseños Industriales, a power generation engineering firm serving oil & gas and thermal projects, faced a major challenge on a fast-track integrated solar combined cycle plant in Algeria. During the project, the team discovered that a previous stress analysis had been done incorrectly, treating connected equipment as fixed anchor points and missing the true load conditions. Austral worked with Hexagon PPM and its CAESAR II® and Isogen® tools to address the problem.

Using Hexagon PPM’s CAESAR II® software, Austral rebuilt the model, demonstrated the needed design changes, and automatically produced isometric drawings and calculation deliverables. The company completed the corrected analysis in just two weeks, avoided costly and dangerous inconsistencies, and helped keep the project on schedule while improving confidence in its engineering.
