OM1, a healthcare data company providing anonymized patient datasets to medical providers and researchers, was struggling with a fragmented analytics workflow that couldn’t keep up with billions of data points and frequent self-serve requests. Simple business questions often took days to resolve across multiple teams and tools, and the data team saw fewer people asking for reports or insights.

Hex, paired with Snowflake, helped OM1 build a self-serve data app in Hex called Mapping Manager. The app let sales and marketing users manage data mappings through a friendly UI without SQL or Python, while the data team used Hex’s multimodal workflow to support the app on top of Snowflake. The result was faster report turnaround, improved customer experience, and hours saved every week as business users took on tasks traditionally handled by data engineers.
