Matter Labs, the creator of zkSync, needed a better way to produce and share insights into network activity, team health metrics, and economic prediction models. Their existing setup of query editors, CSVs, Google Sheets, and custom BigQuery pipelines was unreliable, hard to maintain, and slow to support a small data team.

Matter Labs implemented a stack with Mage for data pipelines, BigQuery as the warehouse, and Hex for dashboarding and ad hoc analysis. With Hex, Landon Gingerich was able to build interactive reports and professional-looking dashboards in a reproducible way, and the team cut the time to go from tutorials to production-ready pipelines and dashboards to less than three days, compared with several weeks for competitors.
