A Hex Case Study
Inventa, a Brazil-based wholesale marketplace connecting retailers with brands, needed a better way to give its thousands of suppliers timely insights into business performance and how Inventa was impacting sales. Its original process relied on manually exporting database data, generating individualized PDF reports with Python, and uploading them to Google Drive, which was slow, error-prone, and only produced weekly reporting. With Hex and dbt, Inventa set out to modernize external-facing analytics for suppliers.
Using Hex, Inventa built an interactive dashboard with unique supplier links and input parameters so each supplier could securely access only their own data. The team modeled metrics in the dbt semantic layer, added commercial and Reputation Program Score sections, and included a feedback form for suppliers. The result: Inventa automated and scaled reporting in just a few weeks without help from engineering, design, or product, delivered daily insights instead of weekly, and improved the supplier experience with clearer, interactive analytics.
