Newark & Sherwood District Council needed a user-friendly public events calendar that was easy for residents to search but also simple for the Council to maintain without administrative burden. HeX Productions, leveraging their expertise in the Terminalfour CMS, was tasked with building this dynamic platform while streamlining event submissions from external organizers.

HeX Productions developed a custom solution using a Jotform-based submission process integrated directly into the Terminalfour CMS via a PHP webhook. This automated workflow allowed event organizers to submit events without CMS access, automatically validating and formatting data for publication. The resulting website featured robust search and filter capabilities and was built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. HeX's solution significantly reduced manual entry and errors for the Council, saved time for staff, and created a consistent, accessible calendar that empowers residents to easily find local events.
