Homefield College launches WCAG 2.1 AA accessible website with HeX Productions

Homefield College, an independent specialist further education college serving individuals with learning and communication difficulties, faced the challenge of having a website that was not WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliant. To meet their legal and moral obligations for inclusivity, they commissioned HeX Productions to completely redesign and rebuild their website using WordPress.

HeX Productions designed and developed a bespoke, accessible website featuring a custom theme and Gutenberg blocks. The solution included unique elements like an integrated JustGiving donation API, an 'easy read' content toggle, and a custom news filter for different content formats. The project resulted in a fully compliant WCAG 2.1 AA website that is functional, mobile-responsive, and easier for the college's staff to update, significantly improving access to information for all users.
