White River Health System Increases Backup Reliability with Less Effort

White River Health System, a multi‑center medical provider in Arkansas with 1,500 active users across hospitals and clinics, struggled with unreliable nightly backups across about 25 servers and many workstations, spending hours each week troubleshooting and lacking a unified enterprise solution. The organization engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise to replace aging hardware and software and to implement a more reliable, centrally managed backup approach (including HPE Data Protector, HPE 3PAR V400 and HPE StoreOnce 4420).

Hewlett Packard Enterprise, with partner Alphaworks, deployed HPE Data Protector integrated with HPE 3PAR and StoreOnce (and an HPE ProLiant DL380p when needed) in under a month; the solution provides daily email backup summaries, automated retries for open files, and hardware deduplication. As a result, White River reduced backup administration from more than four hours per week to roughly 20 minutes, dramatically shortened troubleshooting time, and cut storage requirements significantly (four weeks of backups now fit in ~10–11 TB versus 20 TB previously).
