A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Vancity, Canada’s largest credit union ($17.5B, 501,000+ members), was migrating from legacy Unix/Oracle to a Windows/SQL environment while doubling its server estate and growing its main database from 40 GB to 115 TB. The credit union needed to guarantee “five nines” uptime for core banking, CRM, online banking and ATMs but lacked unified metrics, end-to-end visibility and proactive detection. Hewlett Packard Enterprise was engaged to provide monitoring, service management and orchestration using HP SiteScope, Business Process Monitor, Operations Manager for Windows, Universal CMDB, BSM and related HP software and services.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented an integrated solution (including SiteScope, BPM, OMW, NNM/NMi, Universal CMDB, Service Manager, BSM, ArcSight and Operations Orchestration) and delivered professional services and hardware support to integrate with SCOM and NetScout. The result is verifiable 99.999% uptime SLAs, single-pane-of-glass visibility, automated reporting, proactive issue detection, simplified change management and secure, scalable operations as the environment scaled (server counts doubled and the database grew to ~115 TB) without customer impact.
