A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
The VELUX Group, a global Danish manufacturer of roof windows and skylights, needed to make its data more agile and accessible—extending self-service reporting to thousands of employees, moving from static annual forecasts to rolling forecasts, and enabling advanced analytics. To achieve this, VELUX engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise (alongside Accenture and SAP) and chose HPE AppSystems for SAP HANA (scale-out) as the underlying platform for SAP BPC, SAP BW and SAP BusinessObjects.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise deployed an HPE AppSystems for SAP HANA scale-out configuration as part of a three-tier HANA/BW/BPC/BusinessObjects architecture, implemented in seven months. The HPE solution compressed the database from 6.5 TB to 2 TB and delivered measurable improvements: reports 20–60% faster, DSO activation cut from four hours to six minutes, and process chains reduced from seven hours to two. HPE’s platform also enabled rolling forecasts, predictive-analytics pilots, mobile reporting and broader self-service access across the business.
