The Alberta Teachers’ Association improves services with HPE 3PAR

The Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA), representing over 43,500 teachers in Alberta, needed to replace an unstable, tape‑based storage system to support growth and a new slate of image- and video‑intensive programs. After evaluating contenders, the ATA selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7200 as the storage component of a converged infrastructure to meet its scalability and manageability requirements.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise, working with partner PC Corp and ATA ITS staff, deployed HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage alongside HPE ProLiant servers and networking to deliver automated failover, on‑the‑fly virtual storage pools, and 24x7 Proactive Care; the implementation eliminated unplanned outages, reduced staffing and management costs, freed IT personnel to focus on strategic projects, and provided scalable capacity for video streaming, archiving, and future growth (including a planned warm DR site).
