Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Migrates Critical Mainframe Applications with HPE

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange needed to migrate mission‑critical IBM mainframe applications to reduce operating risk, cut costs, and remove dependence on scarce mainframe specialists without disrupting non‑stop trading. To accomplish this, the exchange engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise and used HPE Data Center Platform Consulting services to plan and execute the migration.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise moved applications and databases to HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen8 servers running Linux, migrated Adabas and Natural workloads, rewrote COBOL to C and JCL to scripts, and performed extensive parallel testing and staff training. The project finished in about 20 months, on time and within budget, with no downtime or disruption; TASE eliminated its reliance on mainframe specialists, standardized on Linux for greater security and agility, and expects a full return on investment in under three years.
