St. Joseph-Stift Dresden - Customer Case Study

Krankenhaus St. Joseph-Stift Dresden GmbH, a charitable general hospital in Dresden, was struggling with explosive growth in medical imaging and digitized patient records (over 16 TB and expected to double), shrinking backup windows, siloed hardware and aging storage that could not scale. Hewlett Packard Enterprise was chosen—alongside implementation partner Agfa HealthCare—to deliver a future-proof infrastructure using HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage, HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 servers and HPE FlexFabric networking.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s holistic solution, deployed and migrated by Agfa HealthCare, consolidated databases onto clustered HPE 3PAR StoreServ systems, upgraded servers and network fabric, and established redundant dual data centers (migration required only an 11‑hour planned downtime). The deployment halved backup and restore times, significantly increased IT performance, simplified administration, enabled scalable capacity for new modalities and provided more reliable planning and cost transparency for St. Joseph-Stift Dresden.
