A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) faced severe storage bottlenecks and latency as digital growth drove billions of rows of performance data that delayed royalty calculations and distributions. To address these challenges, SOCAN engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its HPE 3PAR StoreServ all‑flash storage (plus HPE 3PAR Peer Motion software) to replace a highly virtualized, tiered legacy storage environment.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise deployed HPE 3PAR StoreServ all‑flash arrays (with Peer Motion for data mobility) and supported installation and migration, enabling SOCAN to scale rapidly and simplify management. The new environment cut processing times by 93%, allowed on‑demand data mobility and automatic load balancing, reduced maintenance windows and staff overtime, and positioned SOCAN to handle much higher volumes of music‑rights data while increasing royalty processing and returns to members.
