A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Skylark Co., the leader in Japan’s food service industry, faced inefficient, fragmented IT after a reorganization — 80 enterprise systems and 200 servers were being run separately across four data centers. To rationalize and modernize its infrastructure, Skylark built a private cloud founded on Hewlett Packard Enterprise HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7400 Storage to create a common, flexible platform.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7400—deployed with thin provisioning, SSD/SAS tiering, adaptive optimization and remote copy—became the storage foundation for the private cloud, enabling consolidation of systems and data centers and faster deployments (from ~2 months to days). The project delivered measurable gains: a five- to tenfold increase in access speeds for routine data, BI analysis now taking only 5–10% of the previous time, improved capacity utilization and lower TCO while supporting Skylark’s nationwide operations (3,000 restaurants, 17 factories and 14 group companies).
