A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
ShoreTel, a pioneer in hosted VoIP serving millions of end users, faced rapid growth of its ShoreTel Sky cloud service and damage from Hurricane Sandy that exposed the need for a highly scalable, standardized network and faster time-to-market. To transform its regional offering into a national midmarket service, ShoreTel engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), including HPE Network Consulting, to redesign and deploy a FlexFabric-based data center platform and associated networking, server and security technologies.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented an HPE FlexFabric solution with FlexNetwork switches, ProLiant servers, TippingPoint IPS, HPE Operations Manager and HPE Network Consulting/Proactive Care services, building two data centers and bringing 180 systems online. The HPE deployment increased ShoreTel Sky capacity tenfold, enabled scaling to more than a million users in under eight months, met tight procurement deadlines (four months) and delivered secure, unified wired/wireless cloud telephony with minimal downtime.
