RI Solution Modernises its SAP Environment and Improves Response Times by up to 33%

RI Solution, the full‑service IT provider for BayWa AG, needed to modernise a mission‑critical SAP Central Retail system running on DB2 that was at full capacity on legacy Superdome 2 servers. To improve availability, scalability and response times while standardising on x86/Linux and containing costs, RI Solution engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its HPE Technology Services Consulting for a migration.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise deployed two HPE Integrity Superdome X Servers (running SUSE Linux), implemented HPE Serviceguard for Linux, HPE Data Protector and HPE Datacenter Care support, and managed the move into two datacentres. The result: application response times improved up to 33%, available compute capacity was quadrupled (now operating at roughly 50% utilization), the environment supports 8,000+ users with near‑zero downtime, and RI Solution gained a scalable, standardised platform ready for further SAP HANA consolidation.
