PULSE Cuts Average Transaction Processing Time By 75% and Cost By 25% with an HP Converged Infrastructure

PULSE, a debit transaction processing network and a Discover Financial Services company, faced the challenge of rapidly scaling its mission-critical systems to handle a potential five-fold increase in transaction volume. They needed a solution that would provide the necessary power and reliability while retaining 100% uptime. To address this, PULSE worked with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to implement a new infrastructure based on HP Integrity NonStop BladeSystem Servers.

The solution from Hewlett Packard Enterprise included an HP Converged Infrastructure, which provided the production systems and a new test and benchmark environment. This implementation reduced average transaction processing time by 75% and lowered the total cost of ownership by approximately one-third. The new systems enabled PULSE to handle nearly five times the volume at about 25% of the previous processing cost, positioning them for future growth with greater agility and reduced risk.
