Pella Increases Infrastructure Performance and Scalability

Pella, a US manufacturer of highly configurable windows and doors, needed a more reliable, scalable and high‑performing infrastructure while reducing Oracle software licensing costs and moving off UNIX. To meet those goals it selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Superdome X platform (HPE Integrity Superdome X Servers) running Linux to support its Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Database environment.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented two Superdome X servers (running Red Hat Enterprise Linux), migrated 26 production Oracle databases from UNIX to x86, and deployed HPE Serviceguard, HPE Data Protector and HPE Proactive Care Advanced services for redundancy and proactive support. The migration delivered significantly improved performance and scalability, ensured 24x7 availability, reduced annual operating costs by $200,000, avoided an additional $200,000 in Oracle licensing, and increased long‑term capacity and ROI.
