A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Panasonic Information Systems sought to fix degraded virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) performance and simplify operations while preserving mobility, security, and cost efficiency. The company worked with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to evaluate and deploy the HP ConvergedSystem 100 for Hosted Desktops (built on the HP Moonshot System with HP ProLiant m700 servers and HP Moonshot 1500 chassis) as an alternative to conventional VDI.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented the CS100 hosted desktop infrastructure, giving each user dedicated physical resources (Citrix XenDesktop on ProLiant m700 nodes) and bringing the environment online in about two weeks. The solution delivered PC‑comparable remote desktop performance, reduced data center footprint by ~90%, cut power consumption by ~50%, simplified provisioning and administration, scales toward ~240 users, and enabled Panasonic IS to launch new hosted‑desktop offerings for customers.
