A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Nordea Bank Finland Plc, a Nordic banking leader serving about 3 million customers, faced the challenge of supporting mission‑critical cash management, payment and integration services amid rapidly growing volume and the need for continuous 24x7 availability and absolute data integrity. To meet these demands the bank relied on Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s NonStop platform—most recently deploying the Integrity NonStop BladeSystem alongside HP StorageWorks XP disk systems and Atalla network security processors.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented a staged migration to the Integrity NonStop BladeSystem (NB50000c), leveraging existing XP storage to avoid data migration and integrating smoothly into Nordea’s heterogeneous environment. The solution delivered significant performance and linear scalability, enabling Nordea to handle more than 2,000 TPS (about 21.6 million transactions per day), support as much as 90% of all payments transactions, and maintain 100% end‑user application availability while protecting data integrity and enabling new services with no impact on response times.
