NG Bailey Supports Future Expansion with Scalable Storage

NG Bailey, the UK’s leading independent engineering, IT and facilities services business, needed to replace legacy storage that was time‑consuming to manage, lacked scalability, had a large physical footprint and delivered poor I/O performance. Following a competitive tender NG Bailey chose Hewlett Packard Enterprise and deployed HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7200 storage to meet requirements for easier management, higher performance, a smaller footprint and future growth.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented two HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7200 arrays with 3PAR software and Proactive Care, providing automated tiering, thin provisioning and simplified administration. The solution cut COINS data extraction from 1 hour 10 minutes to 20 minutes, reduced disk allocation by 55 TB, shrank rack space by 1.5 racks and power use by 30%, saved about £100,000 over five years and removed roughly four hours a month of manual provisioning.
