A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Mutualink, a provider of an IP‑based multimedia virtual network that enables secure interoperability among radios, video, telephones and sensors, was growing rapidly and needed to deliver a cloud‑based, on‑demand service while reducing footprint and speeding deployments. Faced with data‑center space constraints, long procurement and provisioning times for traditional rack servers, and the need for global, 24/7 support, Mutualink selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s HPE Moonshot System with HPE ProLiant m300 servers to address scalability, density and deployment speed challenges.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise migrated Mutualink from rack servers to the HPE Moonshot System running lightweight CentOS containers on ProLiant m300 cartridges, enabling on‑demand spin‑up and automatic load balancing. The move boosted instance density fourfold (1,600 vs. 400 instances in the same space), cut power and cooling costs, eliminated wasted capacity by matching compute to workloads, and reduced customer provisioning from hours or days to minutes—allowing Mutualink to scale economically and respond to customer needs much faster.
