Montana - Customer Case Study

Montana, the Betty Barclay Group’s internal service company, needed a futureproof, scalable data centre to provide 24/7 access to business‑critical applications as data volumes and SAP usage grew. To replace an aging environment that was hitting capacity and performance limits, Montana selected an integrated solution from Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented an HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7400c (four‑node) with 20 SSDs (~38 TB for critical databases), an HPE StoreEver MSL6480 tape library with six LTO‑6 drives, and two HPE StoreFabric SN6500B 16 GB/s switches, supported by HPE software and services. The migration completed in 12 hours, delivering higher availability for 15 Microsoft SQL databases (AlwaysOn), quadrupled SAN transfer speed (from 4 GB/s to 16 GB/s), faster and simplified backups by eliminating the virtual tape library, and easier management and scalability with future deduplication potential (up to 95%) using HPE solutions.
