Preview of the Maxima Case Study

MAXIMA boosts retail operations efficiency with HPE and SAP

Maxima, the largest Lithuanian‑based retailer operating more than 500 stores across the Baltics, faced aging infrastructure, single‑site SAP dependency and the need to improve supply‑chain and SAP performance while preparing for SAP HANA. The company engaged Hewlett Packard Enterprise, selecting HPE ProLiant Gen9 servers and HPE 3PAR StoreServ storage (along with HPE services) to modernize its SAP backbone and address business continuity risks.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented an active‑active data‑center architecture using HPE ProLiant DL580/BL460 Gen9 servers, HPE 3PAR StoreServ 8400, HPE StoreOnce 4500 and StoreEver tape, HPE OneView and HPE Technology Services, and migrated SAP Forecasting & Replenishment to HANA. The HPE solution delivered dramatically faster SAP processing, reduced store replenishment cycle times, 3× faster backups and restores, and the ability to recover operations within one hour—providing higher availability and capacity to support Maxima’s growth.
