M1 Chooses Cloud to Provide Reliable IaaS platform

M1, a Singapore telecommunications provider serving more than two million customers and offering hosting to business clients, needed to migrate hosted customers to a more resilient, cost‑effective and easy‑to‑manage IaaS platform. Following an RFQ and tender process, M1 selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise and deployed an HP CloudSystem–based converged infrastructure (HP BladeSystem, EVA storage and HP Cloud Service Automation) to virtualize its hosted environment.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented the CloudSystem solution and provided design, deployment and knowledge transfer; the result was a fully redundant virtual platform with 100% uptime, a 70% reduction in data‑centre rack space, and up to an 80% cut in server provisioning time. The project also improved scalability and resilience, helped M1 achieve ISO27001 certification, and created new revenue opportunities by freeing rack space for co‑location, with ongoing HPE support.
