A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
KWM Karl Weisshaar Ing. is a German metal-processing company that needed extremely high availability for its ERP, SQL databases and automated production machines to meet a target of roughly 99.9% uptime. To eliminate costly downtime and manual recovery, the company turned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage system with transparent failover.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise implemented two HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7200 systems (27 TB gross / ~18 TB net) with HPE 3PAR Replication (Peer Persistence) and 24x7 HPE Proactive Care Services. The setup provides synchronous/asynchronous replication across two data rooms, automatic transparent failover (tested during live production with no interruption), easier management for a five‑person IT team, and room to grow. As a result KWM now has consistent, disaster‑ready storage, higher availability without system restarts, and increased capacity compared with its previous ~12 TB environment.
