Case Study: Kraft Foods Group achieves a rapid, on‑budget split and launch with Hewlett Packard Enterprise

A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study

Preview of the Kraft Foods Group Case Study

Kraft Foods Group and Mondelēz keep innovation flowing

Kraft Foods Group needed to split off from Kraft Foods Inc. and launch as an independent public company while separating people, applications and IT services quickly and securely. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) served as the global infrastructure partner, providing hosting, private cloud (HPE Helion CloudSystem Enterprise), data center, networking, security and end‑user computing services to enable the rapid split and next‑generation infrastructure.

HPE built two independent infrastructures—standing up over 1,000 servers and 300 TB of storage, deploying five SAP landscapes and migrating 350 applications, creating two dedicated private clouds that now run more than 2,200 virtual instances, and provisioning roughly 40,000 Mondelēz email accounts while rehosting Kraft email—delivering the cutover on time and on budget. Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s solution also included disaster recovery, virtualization, client virtualization and comprehensive security services, improving agility, lowering operational costs and enabling faster provisioning and innovation for Kraft Foods Group.
