Case Study: Kainos Evolve achieves a paperless NHS and faster clinical data access with Hewlett Packard Enterprise

A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study

Preview of the Kainos Evolve Case Study

Kainos Evolve Leads National Health Service into a Paperless Future

Kainos Evolve, the UK market-leading Electronic Medical Records provider, needed to help the NHS meet its paperless-by-2018 goal by digitizing millions of patient files and providing clinicians with mobile, bedside access to precisely indexed clinical data. To do this they partnered with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and built Evolve on HP IDOL 10.5 together with HP Process Automation and HP Records Manager from the HP Autonomy portfolio to extract, index and visualize unstructured clinical content.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s analytics and content-management technology was integrated into Evolve to automate ingestion, concept-based indexing and powerful visualization, speeding time-to-market and standardizing development. The solution is now used across some 80 acute hospitals (including 180,000 scanned records at Buckinghamshire) with contracts to scan up to 250 million documents, eliminated paper workflows, improved clinician productivity and patient safety, and delivered an anticipated 2.4:1 return on investment.
