A Hewlett Packard Enterprise Case Study
Jordan Ahli Bank needed a reliable, easy-to-manage way to deliver desktops to remote branches while improving uptime, peripheral compatibility, and lowering total cost of ownership. After traditional VDI on standard servers failed to scale and support branch scanners and printers, the bank worked with Hewlett Packard Enterprise to pilot and adopt HP ConvergedSystem 100 for Hosted Desktops (based on HP Moonshot 1500 Chassis and HP ProLiant m700 Servers) with Citrix XenDesktop to centralize branch desktops.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Moonshot-based hosted desktop solution delivered dedicated resources per user and simplified deployment and management: rollouts were up to 90% faster, TCO fell about 44%, endpoint lifecycles doubled, and site visits for hardware failures were largely eliminated. The bank now runs 120 hosted desktops (planning for 700 from four Moonshot chassis versus 70 standard servers), regained IT staff time, improved branch uptime and peripheral support, and streamlined updates and maintenance.
