Internet Initiative Japan Builds All Flash Storage Infrastructure

Internet Initiative Japan Inc. needed high-performance, guaranteed I/O storage to support growth of its IIJ GIO P2 cloud services and to offer Performance Guarantee service levels to its customers. To meet peak-demand I/O guarantees and improve service quality, they selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s HPE 3PAR StoreServ All‑Flash Storage.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise deployed HPE 3PAR StoreServ All‑Flash with QoS at the LUN level and a four‑controller configuration, enabling public menus up to 5,000 IOPS and private options up to 10,000 IOPS. The implementation tripled single‑rack capacity, reduced footprint by 74%, cut rebuild time dramatically (1/48 vs SATA HDD), lowered failure rates and power use, and helped IIJ accommodate ~40% yearly storage growth while improving customer satisfaction and simplifying sizing and automation.
